Acquired from a private collection, this extraordinary Georgian memento mori mourning ring is among the rarest examples of antique jewelry. This ring features luminous white enamel in 18k yellow gold—a symbolic tribute to purity, innocence, and the death of a virgin. White mourning rings, primarily used in the Georgian and Victorian periods, memorialized children or unmarried women, distinguishing them from the black enamel rings used for married individuals.

Sold individually, the collection includes four rings dating from 1741 to 1806, each crafted during the elegant Georgian era. White mourning enamel signified the loss of a young life, making these rings poignant tokens of remembrance. Their scarcity and historical significance have made them prized objects for museum collectors and connoisseurs of rare mourning jewelry. 18k gold, used for its noble appearance and permanence, elevates each piece to luxurious memorial art.

These white memento mori rings are wearable relics of love, loss, and historical mourning customs. Highly collectible and increasingly difficult to find, each ring tells a deeply personal story through the language of Georgian memorial jewelry.

Sizing

Rings

The majority of our rings are one-of-a-kind. If you would like to order a ring in a specific size, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Helping you find the perfect fit is our priority. There is a flat fee of $60 to size down. The sizing-up cost varies based on width of the ring and the amount of material required.

Keep in mind that finger sizes fluctuate due to factors such as temperature and time of day. Rings with an open space under the mounting, as well as contour bands, may fit differently than fully round rings.

Ring sizings take 3 weeks before they ship.
