Wood & Sons, one of America's most respected gold jewelry manufacturers of the Victorian era, this wide 10K gold cigar band is a rare find for the discerning collector — a piece with traceable provenance, period-correct craftsmanship, and the quiet confidence of a ring made to last generations.
The cigar band silhouette — broad, flat, and commanding — was the wedding band style of choice for Victorian-era Americans who favored bold, architectural goldwork over delicate ornamentation. At 6.9mm wide, this band strikes the perfect balance: substantial enough to read as a statement piece on the hand, refined enough to wear with both antique and contemporary dress.
The surface is divided into engraved floral panels, each intricately worked in the restrained, symmetrical style characteristic of late Victorian decorative sensibility. Floral motifs in this period carried deep symbolic weight — fidelity, beauty, renewal — making engraved wedding bands of this style both personal adornments and encoded love tokens. The engraving remains crisp and well-preserved, a testament to the quality of the original goldwork.

Sizing
Rings
The majority of our rings are one-of-a-kind. If you would like to order a ring in a specific size, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Helping you find the perfect fit is our priority. There is a flat fee of $60 to size down. The sizing-up cost varies based on width of the ring and the amount of material required.
Keep in mind that finger sizes fluctuate due to factors such as temperature and time of day. Rings with an open space under the mounting, as well as contour bands, may fit differently than fully round rings.
Ring sizings take 3 weeks before they ship.

Our Petra Star signature pieces are made-to-order using recycled alloys. Custom items are available in the following materials:

Our one-of-a-kind items are only available "as is.” We are happy to discuss the options for remaking a similar piece in a different metal to your specifications—it's one of our specialties.
