Antique Silver Satyr Ring — Handmade Figural Devil Mask, Leaf Shoulders, Circa 1910, Size 6
A horned, bearded face looks out from this antique silver ring — satyr or devil, depending on who is asking. Handmade around 1910, the mask is modeled in full relief: swept-back horns, a heavy brow, and a long pointed beard that runs down toward the finger. A leaf motif climbs each shoulder, placing the figure in the woodland world of Pan and his fauns.
This is a solid, heavy ring — 13 grams of silver, measuring 23.5 mm across the face and tapering to 5.7 mm at the back of the band. The high points carry the soft wear of more than a century on the hand, which only deepens the contrast in the recesses of the carving. At a finger size 6, it makes a great pinky ring for a man.
