Antique Edwardian Dress Stud Charm | Platinum Mother of Pearl Seed Pearl 14K
A gentleman dressed for evening wear once fastened this stud into a formal shirt front — and more than a century later, it has found a second life at the throat of someone new. This is an authentic Edwardian dress shirt stud, made in the early 1900s and thoughtfully converted into a wearable charm, its original two-metal construction left intact and untouched.
The face is platinum, framing a mother of pearl base centered with a pearl, and the surround carries the fine engraved and milgrain detailing that defined the finest Edwardian metalwork — a period when platinum's newfound workability let jewelers achieve a level of delicacy that gold alone could not. The reverse remains 14k yellow gold, exactly as it was made. The only addition is a new 14k white gold bail, added to allow the stud to be worn as jewelry rather than fastened through a shirt placket.
