Every detail in this necklace tells a story. On one side you’ll find a fierce dragon battling a snake, carved into oblong jade that speaks to craftsmanship and tradition; on the reverse, a delicate leaf and ancient symbols root the piece in nature and meaning. Alternating jade beads add texture and tone, while the sterling-silver clasp balances strength with elegance. Bold, wearable, and built to last.

In Chinese tradition, the dragon is a symbol of power, vitality, and divine authority. It is the master of rain and water, often depicted soaring among the clouds, bringing life-giving storms. Revered as the mightiest of creatures, the dragon also represents the emperor and the high spiritual order he embodies.
Unlike Western dragons, the Chinese dragon is serpentine—graceful, cloud-borne, and more aligned with creation than destruction. Its energy is captured in the phrase “long fei” (dragon soars), a symbol of strength in motion.
The snake, meanwhile, is a complex figure in Chinese symbolism: wise, flexible, and tied to the cycles of transformation. It represents the yin (feminine) principle and appears in ancient mythology as a symbol of rebirth and fertility. Deities like Fuxi and Nuwa are often shown with snake-like lower bodies, reinforcing the snake’s connection to the divine.
The pairing of dragon and snake in this piece reflects a dynamic interplay of power and transformation—heaven and earth in tension and harmony.

Sizing
Rings
The majority of our rings are one-of-a-kind. If you would like to order a ring in a specific size, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Helping you find the perfect fit is our priority. There is a flat fee of $60 to size down. The sizing-up cost varies based on width of the ring and the amount of material required.
Keep in mind that finger sizes fluctuate due to factors such as temperature and time of day. Rings with an open space under the mounting, as well as contour bands, may fit differently than fully round rings.
Ring sizings take 3 weeks before they ship.

Our Petra Star signature pieces are made-to-order using recycled alloys. Custom items are available in the following materials:

Our one-of-a-kind items are only available "as is.” We are happy to discuss the options for remaking a similar piece in a different metal to your specifications—it's one of our specialties.
