Authentic Early-Victorian Bohemian Garnet Pendant Brooch

This large Bohemian garnet locket has a bail so that it can be worn as a pendant as well. This is a large piece with a high dome. The center stones are rose cuts and cabochon garnets forming a star in the center. 

My gut is telling me this is part of a much larger piece. We added the silver bail that folds so that you can still wear it as a brooch. There are jump rings on the back if you wanted to permanently attach a chain to this piece. The patina on the backside is oxidized due to age compared to the recently added bail that does not have patina.
