Sapphire and Diamond Cluster Earrings in 14k Yellow Gold
Elegant sapphire and diamond drop earrings replicating the Victorian era using antique gemstones. The piece was expertly constructed about 25 years ago and almost impossible to tell the modern from the antique. The sapphires—almost a Kashmir color showing a vivid blue—are held in by 11 prongs and surrounded by a halo of old-mine cut diamonds.
Popular at the time, and really quite timeless in form and design, these earrings are elegant yet simple enough to be worn day to day.
The original design request for this pair of earrings was to take inspiration from Princess Diana's engagement ring, which has seen a resurgence in popularity as it was used by Prince William to propose to Kate Middleton. The ring was based on a Garrard Jewelers (jeweler for the royal crown) version 1735 engagement design.
