Chapter map
ou'll find us upstairs in The Standard — at 3 Water Street, Suite 102, just south of the iconic bascule bridge. We are fully handicap accessible with an elevator, so the door is open to everyone. Paid parking is in the Mystic Museum of Art lot steps from our entrance, and two-hour free street parking is available. Right next door is Sift — which is, in itself, reason enough to make the trip. Petra Star is open Wednesday through Saturday, 11 to 5. Private appointments are always welcome outside those hours — if there's something particular you are searching for, a custom design, an heirloom reimagined, or a specific stone or era, reach out before you arrive and we'll be ready for you.

Plan Your Day in Mystic

Our favorite stops · from the bridge to the table

A Day in Mystic
owntown Mystic is one of coastal New England's most rewarding destinations — compact enough to explore on foot, rich enough to fill an entire day. The bascule bridge connects both banks of the Mystic River, putting the best of both sides within easy walking distance of Petra Star. These are a few of our personal favorite stops in town, and we recommend them all wholeheartedly.
❧ Sift Adjacent · West Bank · Bakery & Destination A big destination in its own right and our immediate neighbor, Sift is one of the most beloved stops in all of Mystic. The aroma alone is an experience — begin here before you come upstairs, or end your visit with something sweet to carry home.
⚓ Shipwright's Daughter James Beard Award Winner · East Bank · Fine Dining One of Connecticut's most celebrated tables and a destination worthy of planning your entire trip around. Cross the bascule bridge and you are steps away from a chef-driven, ingredient-obsessed experience deeply rooted in the coastal abundance of Long Island Sound. Reserve well ahead.
✺ The Oyster Club Water Street · West Bank · Foodie Destination A personal favorite and a benchmark for what farm-to-table dining along the Connecticut coast can be. A short walk south from Petra Star on Water Street, The Oyster Club sources locally, cooks with intention, and has an oyster selection that reminds you exactly where you are.
✿ The Spice & Tea Exchange At the Bridge · East Bank · A Sensory Experience The Tea Shop fills the senses in the best possible way — a quiet, fragrant interlude right at the foot of the bascule bridge on the Stonington side. Step in to slow down, browse an extraordinary selection of teas, and let the scents transport you. A natural stop as you cross between banks.
✵ Karma Kitchen East Bank · North of Bridge · Vegan & Plant-Forward For our vegan and plant-forward visitors, Karma Kitchen offers a delectable selection of house-made juices, wraps, and salads that are as nourishing as they are flavorful. Cross the bridge and head north along the east bank — a genuinely delicious stop on your day in Mystic.
